We enter the golden beautiful October with the full moon in the sign of Aries. It is time to reap the seeds we have sown and get what we have asked for. This moon provided our ancestors with the light to reap the harvest. This moon reminds us of our desires and dreams. Let’s enjoy our wishes, put our wishes in the symbolic light of this full moon and wait for them to come true.
How comfortable we feel is a different question, whether we have a small stone in the shoe or something else makes us feel uncomfortable depends on how much we have worked and what we have contributed to it. No matter how hard we try, we can’t find the perfect answer for the moment or feel the full pleasure. That makes sense, too, doesn’t it? Let’s think about why we have a “red flag”, where and why we have barriers and we can’t fully enjoy what we have at the moment.
What can we do to know that the situation will soon improve and we will have the harmony and comfort we are looking for? Let’s look for new ways to improve our strategies, rethink our devotion and learn something or educate ourselves on the topic that excites us. Let us be worthy warriors, like Aries, and worthy competitors. Let’s think not only about today, but about the future. This is accomplished with productive evolutionary change and transformation, with loyalty, with plans for years to come, and not just with the small attitudes that serve us at the moment.
Thanks to the Fiery Mars in Aries and the full moon there, we are enthusiastic, inflamed, but if we want to make constant efforts to leave a mark, we must be ready to deal with our own weaknesses, as well as those we perceive in the world. We need to learn discipline, long-term strategy and patience!
October shakeups and turbulence
During October, the rhythm of the cosmic dance includes an incredible number of planetary communications and energies. But unlike some that come around once in awhile or infrequently, some aspects repeat three times. This is because of the retrograde motion of the planets, the optical illusion from earth that a planet is moving backwards. Of course it is not, but astrologically it does. It just seems obvious that an interaction that happens three times instead of once, should grab our attention. When we view them collectively as a pattern, we are likely to get more useful information..
Since the end of September, we are witnessing the square between Mars and Saturn, an aspect that will see three times this year, for this reason, I want to talk more about it.
The square of two heavy stubborn planet can creates different effect: construction and growth or ruin and divisions, it depends how we are going to act.
As we know, Mars, the planet, the ruler of Aries, our energy, sexual desires and motivation move retrograde in their ownership sign of Aries from September 10 to November 13. Many of our desires are blocked, many friends are temporarily interrupted without being stopped, temporarily. Uncertainty and ambiguity become even more apparent in October. This affects cardinal signs the most, such as Mars squaring them, that of Goat Horn ( Capricorn) to Cancer, Libra and Aries. Let’s not forget that passing through Aries, Mars squares Saturn and Pluto, which are in Capricorn and complicates the already voluminous situation even more. As Mars goes backwards, he does this difficult aspect 3 times with Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn.
The first time – in early September, the second time when it goes back to 24 and 25 degrees (the hot spots where Pluto and Saturn are) in late September and takes place as well in the first 5 days of October; the last square is in the last week of December and a few days later in January 2021. These are the most difficult astrological aspects that involve collision, disagreement, opposition and even aggression, as Mars is in the fiery Aries and Saturn is in the stubborn Capricorn, who does not step in front of anything, being responsible for order, discipline and structure; and Mars is impulsive, carefree, and aggressive. What can you expect in these conflicts with these two stubborn and cardinal signs, adding Pluto, which is also 24 degrees in Capricorn, the picture becomes even scarier; this is a difficult time for both personal relationships and the state, because Saturn commands the rules, structure and government. How to solve the problem? Someone has to open up and make a compromise, otherwise it can happen as in the indicator with two goats where they met on the bridge and since they were both stubborn, no one is far from the other and they both went to the river. If, however, one gives in and the other agrees to the negotiations, it will be a huge amount of energy put into the work with very positive and constructive results. I repeat, it must be tact, diplomacy, care for others, not the carelessness or the firmness and inflexibility of Capricorn. Check in your own birth chart, where Mars and Saturn square? See which place Aries and Capricorn are and you will find out in which area you may have a conflict, and maybe you have already used from anywhere in the area, because Saturn has been in Capricorn for a long time, and Mars is in Aries since June 28, the first conflict broke out in early September, so be prepared and be flexible, negotiations and diplomacy can lead to construction; instead of aggression, it leads to destruction and breakage, divisions, divorces and wars, figuratively and literally.
Mars retrograde in Aries, makes square to Pluto, as well. Mars squaring Pluto on October 9th. This is the second time Mars in head-strong Aries squares Pluto in unmovable Capricorn. They first conflicted on August 13th. With Mars now moving retrograde it’s unlikely we are going to experience anything close to a breakthrough this week. In fact, it’s more likely we may feel more stuck or befuddled than before. Withdrawing to regroup might be part of the ultimate picture of success. It’s not failure to recognize what can and cannot be accomplished given current circumstances and resources.
The good news is this is a temporary state. Mars will meet Pluto again at the end of December (23rd) and by then we are likely to feel much more enlightened and empowered. This week, if you feel like you are facing a stone wall, which could be an obstacle or delay or coming up against a difference of opinion or attitude of a loved one or co-worker, this is not the end point. There is still a distance to go for resolution. Don’t give up hope or get impatient. If you want to fight City Hall you will probably need a better plan, more resources, or a more targeted network than you have now.
Mercury Retrograde October 14 until November 04.2020 Mercury, the planet of communication entered the sign of Scorpio on September 28 to stay here until December 2.2020. Also, during October, Mercury will be retrograde from 14 October until November 04.2020. Since Scorpio is emotional, water sign that requires transformation and retrospection, this time is about gaining emotional clarity. Mercury will be traveling very close to the sun in Scorpio so the theme or emotional intelligence and simplicity will take important place during retrograde cycle. Mercury repeats two very difficult aspects during this retrograde, making three squares to Saturn in Capricorn from Libra and three oppositions to Uranus in Taurus from Scorpio. The square and opposition are stressful aspects, and the repetition will significantly increase the pressure felt during this retrograde. It will be important to de-stress, focus on self-care, and ask for help when you need it.
On Wednesday, October 7th, Mercury, the thinker and communicator, in very introspective Scorpio opposes revolutionary Uranus in Taurus. This is important all on its own, as you will read below. However, it has added punch and significance since this is the first of three oppositions the two planets will make over the next 6 weeks. When Mercury retrogrades in Scorpio (October 13), this backwards or inwards motion sends Mercury back on a trajectory to oppose Uranus again on October 19 and then for a final time on November 17 as it is moving direct after the retrograde.
So what happens when Mercury opposes Uranus? This combo is usually electric, eccentric, and experimental. The more unusual or unorthodox, the more it appeals. We might feel very mentally anxious or agitated, impatient, spontaneous, creative, and impulsive. It can be very exciting and stimulating, but also leave us feeling overly sensitive or strung out. Uranus is the rebel and revolutionary that resonates with our desire and need to break free of limitations in our lives. Although these are usually self-imposed, we might strike out at anyone or anything handy that serves as a projection of lack of freedom and independence that we are experiencing. Better to blame someone else than ourselves! But be advised, this is the beginning of a pattern that is worth watching, especially in ourselves as we desire more independence, creativity, spontaneity, and excitement in our lives. This could be a foundational piece of disruption or shakeup signaling a coming revolutionary changes. Worthwhile change is rarely accomplished in one sweeping stroke. This could be the start of something big when it comes to our thinking outside the box and gaining a brilliant or novel insight and awareness.
Mercury retrograde and its repeated oppositions to Uranus (disruption) points to opinions and perceptions swinging back and forth as it is nearly impossible for polls to be accurate, communicators to communicate, and even to depend upon the digital frameworks of communication. High winds may knock down telephone lines, disrupt the internet, and make us even more aware of how fragile our national infrastructure really is. Meanwhile, some of the fires in the Western US may reduce as storms bringing badly needed rain into those regions are likely. In other regions, however, there may be hurricanes and tornadoes as Mercury and Uranus opposition brings high winds sweep across the nation. Earthquakes will likely occur, but it is difficult to track exactly where they will manifest.
A New Moon in Libra arrives on October 16th. A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28 day cycle. When Sun meets the moon, it gives an invigorating burst of energy and initiative. So this is an excellent time for making a fresh start, turning over a new leaf, or starting a new project.
The New Moon in Libra sits in between a square to Pluto and Saturn and is in opposition to Mars. This new Moon is not on it’s happy position. Serious about the transformations it wants us to make, the justice it wants us to seek, and the obstacles, conflicts, and contentions it wants us to work through. This New Moon could easily result in anger, resentment, frustration, and the abuse of power and authority.
The October 16 new moon lasts for four weeks up to the November 15 new moon. The 2020 US presidential election on November 3 falls within this moon phase. So there is the real possibility of a contested result, abuse of power and authority, and acts of violence. The October 2020 new moon does align with the two very fortunate stars. So achievement and success are possible if this highly competitive new moon energy is channeled into hard work and determination. But a ruthless quest for power is likely to result in polarization, extremism, conflict, and violence.
US presidential election on November 3.2020 falls within this moon phase, also there are squares from Saturn and Pluto, and an opposition from Mars. Think also about two planers in retrograde during the election- Mars in Aries and Mercury in Scorpio. It is not going to be either easy or clear moment in time. Secret tactics like trickery or passive-aggressiveness will not work. Remember the story of the two goats on the bridge, again, patience, diplomacy love and desire to compromise can really make magic for growth and great transformation than violence and disruption.
The key to dealing with any arguments is to be open and honest about our strong desires. Avoid risk-taking and acting impulsively. Sex, exercise, sport, and hard physical work will release tension from our body. We must strive to meet our responsibilities with patience, determination, persistence, and a strong work ethic.
The Sun enters Scorpio on October 22nd. Life’s mysteries come into focus when the Sun moves into intense Scorpio. This Water sign is the detective of the zodiac, digging beneath the surface and uncovering hidden secrets about ourselves, others, and the world at large. This is a time when we’ll want to shine a light into the shadows so that we can transform one another with the truth.
Halloween, All Saints Day, and Day of the Dead all take place under the influence of the Scorpio Sun and that’s no coincidence! The veil between our world and the realm of spirits — both visible and invisible — is said to grow thin during Scorpio season, heightening our ability to connect with those who have passed. This is why we’re especially drawn to all things spiritual and otherworldly while the Sun is in Scorpio. Scorpio wants answers, and the only way to get to the bottom of things is to ask a lot of questions, keep your eyes and ears open, and investigate everything (and everyone) around you. If you’ve wanted to find out the truth about something, this is the time to do it!
The Full Moon in Taurus occurs on October 31st. So close to Uranus in Taurus, this Full moon has abundance of spirited stories with. One of the loudest Full Moons of the year, it brings with it unexpected events and shocking surprises.
Enjoy this beautiful, golden month, work for your dreams! Just remember- be diplomatic, spread compassion and love wherever you go!
